Colour grading

Kleurgradering · Nabewerking

Deliberately steering the colour mood of a photo to achieve a desired feel or style.

Colour grading goes beyond correction: it's an artistic choice. A teal-and-orange look gives a cinematic feel. Warm shadows and cool highlights create a summery, retro mood. In Lightroom you work via the Tone Curve or the Color Grading module (Shadows, Midtones, Highlights colourable separately). A preset is a quick way to start a colour grade; sets for Lightroom and Capture One are on fotografie-presets.nl.
