1. Who we are

Fotoapps by Michiel Heijmans is an initiative of Michiel Heijmans Fotografie, established in the Netherlands. This platform offers photography tools for photographers who want to shoot with intent. Most tools are free; a small subset requires a paid account.

2. Use of the tools

The tools are for personal use. Outcomes are indicative and intended as a helper, not as a substitute for professional skill or advice. Use at your own discretion and risk.

3. Account and subscription

An account is required for access to certain tools. Creating an account is free. Some tools require an active paid subscription. Subscriptions run monthly or annually and can be cancelled monthly. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of an ongoing period, except when you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of signing up (see the next section).

4. Payment

Payments are processed via Mollie Payments B.V. By paying you accept Mollie's payment processing. Prices include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to adjust prices; changes apply to new subscription periods.

Discount codes and promotional offers apply to the first billing period only (the first year for annual subscriptions, the first month for monthly subscriptions). Subsequent automatic renewals are billed at the then-current standard price, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the offer.

5. One-off purchases

Besides subscriptions we sell standalone digital products, such as the preset pack. A one-off purchase does not include access to premium tools.

Delivery happens right after payment via a download link sent by email. The link is valid for 90 days. If you lose the files after that, contact us via michielheijmans.com.

Because this is digital content delivered immediately after payment, the statutory 14-day cooling-off period no longer applies once the download has been made available. This is also stated at checkout.

Purchased presets are for personal use. You may use them in your own work, including commercially, but you may not resell, share or redistribute them, including in modified form.

6. Right of withdrawal

If you sign up for a paid subscription through this website as a consumer, you have a statutory cooling-off period of 14 days. Within that period you can withdraw from the agreement without giving a reason. Any amount already paid will be refunded within 14 days using the same payment method.

You can withdraw easily via the withdrawal function on this site, or by email to mail@michielheijmans.com. You will receive a confirmation of receipt by email.

For the preset pack and other standalone digital products, the right of withdrawal lapses once the download has been made available, because it is digital content delivered immediately (see section 5). The right of withdrawal does not apply to orders from businesses or organisations.

7. Website checker

The website checker analyses public web pages on the basis of their HTML source. We are not responsible for actions that visitors take based on the analysis reports. The tool may not be used to analyse non-public or protected pages.

8. AI tools and credit

Some tools use artificial intelligence via Anthropic's API. These tools require AI credit, which is purchased separately. Credit is settled immediately on use and is non-refundable. The output of AI tools is indicative and intended as a helper. Use at your own discretion and risk; we offer no guarantees on completeness, accuracy or fitness of AI-generated text.

9. Camera styles and film simulations

The camera styles tool approximates film simulations and picture styles of various camera brands (including Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon, Sony, Leica, OM System and others) via colour transformations in your browser. It is a software approximation, not an exact camera LUT. The original names (Velvia, Classic Chrome, Acros, etc.) are trademarks of their respective owners and are used solely for recognition; there is no formal affiliation with or endorsement by these manufacturers. Expect a look in the spirit of the original, not a 1-to-1 reproduction.

10. Image processing stays local

Tools that process photos or images (camera styles, EXIF viewer, watermark, diptych maker, social media image) do everything in your own browser. Your photos are not uploaded to our servers. We have no access to your images and cannot provide backup or recovery for them.

11. Liability

Michiel Heijmans Fotografie is not liable for direct or indirect damages arising from the use of the tools, incorrect outcomes or temporary unavailability. We do our best, but offer no guarantees on correctness or continuity.

12. Intellectual property

All text, design and code is the property of Michiel Heijmans Fotografie, unless stated otherwise. Reuse or commercial use without permission is not allowed. Trademarks of camera brands, film simulation names and open-source components remain the property of their respective owners and are credited in the colophon.

13. Changes

We may change the tools and these terms at any time. The most current version is always on this page.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
