Trees for All

Planting trees in the Netherlands and Borneo, supported by this website.

What does Trees for All do?

Trees for All is a Dutch foundation, CBF-certified, that plants trees and restores forests worldwide. Projects run in the Netherlands (from the Veluwe to South Limburg) and internationally, including Borneo, Bolivia and Nepal. The goal: a healthier climate, more biodiversity and better living conditions for local communities.

The foundation works with local partners, plants native species and manages the planting for the long term. No one-off stunts, but forest that stays.

Our contribution

A share of the revenue from Michiel Heijmans Apps goes to Trees for All every month. The more members the site has, the larger that support becomes. Right now we plant 3 trees per month to offset the AI used in building this website. The counter currently stands at 9 trees.

AI models cost energy. Not enormous amounts per query, but measurable. Avoiding AI entirely was not an option, because it helped with the tools and the content. What we can do is offset that footprint, and do a little more than strictly required.
