Editing Tools for Photographers
Editing tools for photographers: practise colour grading in your browser and work with a Preset Pack for Lightroom, Capture One and LUT.
Making a photo a little warmer is easy. But what happens to the skin tones and that blue background? When you edit, you want to see what you’re changing. These editing tools help you understand colour corrections and choose a starting point for your edit. You still need to use your own eyes afterwards. Thankfully.
See what a colour correction does
Colour Grading lets you upload a photo for free in your browser and extracts its dominant colours. Adjust temperature, tint, saturation and hue angle, and watch your colour palette change live. You can see what warmer light or a shift towards magenta does before recreating the correction in Lightroom or Capture One. Handy when you want to keep skin tones, backgrounds or colour accents consistent across a series.
Use a preset as a starting point
The Preset Pack contains 17 presets based on the editing styles of great photographers, each in four strengths. Buy it once and receive a download link by email, with a PDF installation guide. Files come as .xmp for Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC, .costyle for Capture One and .cube for software that supports LUTs. A preset is still a starting point: white balance, exposure and your camera affect how it looks on your RAW file. Apply it and call it done? I’d still take another look and make a few adjustments.
