Tension point
Spanningspunt · Composition
A point in the composition where elements nearly but not quite touch, creating visual tension.
When two elements almost touch but just don't, it attracts attention and creates unease. Sometimes this is undesirable (a branch almost touching a face); sometimes you use it deliberately to create dynamism. Intentionally placing elements just out of each other's reach gives energy to a composition.
