Stop (exposure)

Stop (lichtwaarde) · Exposure

A unit of light: one stop is half or double the amount of light.

Aperture, shutter speed and ISO all work in stops. From f/2.8 to f/4 is one stop less light. From 1/125 to 1/250 is one stop less light. From ISO 400 to ISO 800 is one stop more sensitivity. Stops are the common language of the exposure triangle.
