A dark subject against a brightly lit background.
Meter the exposure on the background (sky, window) so it's correctly exposed and the subject goes black. Use -1 to -2 EV exposure compensation for a dramatic dark silhouette. Simple, recognisable shapes work best. Sunset is the classic background.
