A studio flash unit where the power supply and flash tube are integrated into a single self-contained housing.
A monolight plugs directly into a wall socket, with no separate generator needed. Cheaper and simpler than pack-and-head systems, but less powerful and slower. Ideal for the beginning studio photographer.
