A camera without a mirror mechanism - the electronic viewfinder shows live sensor output.
Advantages: lighter, quieter, faster (up to 30fps), electronic viewfinder shows exposure live. Disadvantages: battery life shorter than DSLR, electronic viewfinder can be challenging in bright sunlight. Mirrorless has largely replaced DSLR as the standard for new systems.
