A selection that determines which areas of the photo are affected by an edit.
Masks let you apply exposure, colour, or sharpness adjustments to only the subject, sky, or a specific area. In Lightroom you create masks via brush, gradient, radial filter, or AI selection (subject, sky, background). In Photoshop layer masks are the standard for non-destructive editing.
