The connection system between camera and lens, specific to each camera brand and system.
Each camera manufacturer has its own lens mount: Canon RF, Nikon Z, Sony E, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds (OM/Panasonic). Lenses are not directly interchangeable between systems. Via adapters you can use lenses from other brands, sometimes with limitations in autofocus or image stabilisation. Choose your camera system partly based on the available lens selection.
