Hair light

A light source behind the subject that draws a glowing outline along the edges. Synonym of Rim light.
The term hair light is used especially in portrait studios for a rim light aimed specifically at the hair. When the same effect is applied to shoulders or the body, it is more often called rim light or separation light.
