Camera format where each image is exposed on a separate sheet of film, usually 4×5 or 8×10 inch.
Large format cameras (view cameras) are slow and technically demanding, but deliver unmatched detail and tonal range. A 4×5 negative is 13× larger than 35mm. The bellows construction allows perspective corrections (tilt/shift). Used for architecture, fine art and studio photography. Photographers like Ansel Adams worked exclusively in large format.
