An extreme wide-angle lens with a field of view up to 180 degrees and characteristic spherical distortion.
There are two types: diagonal (fills the full frame) and circular (gives a round image with black corners). Straight lines become curved. Popular in skate, surf, and action sports photography. Can also be used creatively for architecture or landscape.
