A rolling platform for a camera or tripod that enables smooth horizontal camera movements.
A dolly shot moves the camera through space, unlike a pan which only rotates the camera. Dolly shots give a cinematic, smooth perspective. In the studio track rails are used; outdoors slider dollies and gimbal systems are alternatives.
