The angle over which a lens captures the surroundings, depending on focal length and sensor format.
A 50mm lens on full-frame has an angle of view of approximately 47 degrees, close to the human eye. A 24mm has approximately 84 degrees, a 200mm approximately 12 degrees. The crop factor of a sensor reduces the angle of view compared to full-frame.
