35mm film

Kleinbeeldfilm (35mm) · Analoog

The most widely used analogue film format: a 24×36mm negative on a 135 cartridge.

35mm is the origin of the term "full frame": digital full-frame sensors are exactly the same size as a 35mm negative. A cartridge holds 24 or 36 exposures (sometimes 37). 35mm has seen a significant revival in recent years: Kodak Gold, Fuji Superia and Ilford HP5 can now sometimes be hard to find. The colour rendering and characteristic grain of 35mm cannot be truly replicated with a filter.
